THROW away your saggy bottoms and put the sexy back in swimsuits. That’s the message from Noosa’s newest swimwear company.
Just launched in Australia, Boom Boom Bikini is the latest idea from Hawaiian import Christina Henline.
``One of my best friends started the label in Hawaii last year so, being a Noosa local for the last eight years, I thought I’d jump on board and go into business with her,” Tina said.
``I saw a real gap in the market for these tiny, Brazilian-style bikinis.
``After my last trip home to Hawaii I brought over a few to test them out and see the reaction and so far I have received nothing but positivity.
``In a few months we will begin designing next season’s together.”
Tina said the range was inspired by the ocean and ``things that make us happy”.
``There are heaps of bright colours,” she said.
``Styles range from really sexy to more covered up. There is even a more sporty style for surfing, as we both surf daily.
``Each style is named after a close friend or family member. For example, my friend named one after me it’s called the Tina and is reversible.
``Our slogan is throw away your saggy bottoms and get into a Boom Boom.”
Tina is also launching a bikini modelcompetition at the Reef Hotel on Friday nights starting tonight.
``Along with The Reef and Carlton United Brewery, who are giving $1000 cash to the winner, there are some pretty awesome prizes up for grabs,” Tina said.
Prizes include a photo shoot and a year’s contract with Boom Boom Bikini in Australia; a deep treatment, cut and blow dry from Verde Hair Art; vouchers from Fred & Ginger and Noosa Longboards; free gym memberships fromFrank’s Gym, and heaps of other great prizes on the nights.

BoomBoom Hits the Runway!

It's 6:30 pm and the models for BoomBoom Bikini's fashion show are scheduled to hit the runway in just a few hours. The 2010 Central Coast Fashion Week "Haute Couture" event is now rounding out a month-long showcase of the hottest up-and-coming indie-designers in the fashion industry. This event was to be the biggest boom for the Hawaiian bikini company since its inception in 2008. Big Island born and raised Owner/Designer Elena Merritt is still deciding what dress to wear--a much more daunting task than simply grabbing a suit for her daily surf. She had finally fastened the last safety pin on her polka-dot-makeshift-mini--after all she is "From Big Island"--and the coconut girl was more than ready for Cali's hot fashion world.

Haute Coture took place on June 4, 2010 in one of San Luis Obispo's hottest nightclubs, Native Lounge. The evening showcased the talents on not just one homegrown wahine. Hawai'i native Meleana Handle coordinated the BoomBoom fashion show and spiced the evening up by styling the models in Candyland-esque fashion. Hot pink balloons were tied to neon bandeau tops: rainbow lollypops were tucked into black Brazilian bottoms: and glitter touched every inch of skin that the bikinis didn't. Elena's BoomBooms hit the runway with fierce flavor and the models had the 'okole to match. Heads began to turn as DJ Dunk got "the Tambourine going" with a hot Eve track. Shortly after, jaws hit the floor, proving that not only in Hawai'i is less really more.

My friends Eve and Pris... 2 half Dutch/Indonesian young ladies who spent last summer living with their Uncle (best kickboxing teacher on the planet) roaming around, directing fashion shows, surf events, dancing nights away...ohhh they are soo... LOVELY, happy, Cantik.. cant say enough good things. Just so happy we are friends. Their blog tells all about the best food, parties, shopping, secret treasures... My lovely bella from Paris, living in Bali she is indeed one of the coolest cats on the block!

After graduating from fashion design school in Paris, she became assistant designer to Marc Jacobs where she devoted her time to textile design and production quality. After two years she decided to call it quits and began on her own journey. She traveled to Sri Lanka where she learned about gemology which soon became a passion. As soon as I heard the news I rushed downtown to see this amazing bottle of wine for myself =) At 806 Kilauea St. (next to my favorite restaurant Cafe Concerto) Randy Nunokawa is committed to finding you the best wines for the best value! He specializes in finding the great wines not commonly found in supermarkets...so if your sick of the cheap barefoot/yellowtail go check the brotha out! Most bottles range from about $10-13. My favorite of coarse is the "BoomBoom" and no...not just because of its name! This Syrah is Inky colored with a full palate of blueberry jam, blackberry, dried-spices and smokey oak. having to keep up with orders and emails I was forced to get one of those handheld www devices...u know the ones that come with a telephone, Internet, games, (apps?!) all in the palm of your hand....(beware: these devices can lead to unconscious poking from time to time)
Anyway....whats neat about that
unconscious poking is that I sometimes come across girls near and far rocking BoomBoom's! I have to say....I really get off on this!!

Go get one, they are free and available at most surfshops in Hawaii. Mahalo nui to whoever it was that stuck us in there...way to make a girl smile!
